The department of Computer Science and Engineering was formed with the primary objective of providing world class education in the field of Information Technology. One of the first department in the state to offer a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Right from its inception, the Department has been offering excellent infrastructural facilities with a variety of computing platforms to aspiring professional students to meet the burgeoning demands of the IT industry.
The department endeavors to produce confident professionals tuned to real time working environment. The department offers excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified faculty members to inspire the students to develop their technical skills and inculcate the spirit of team work in them.
The strength of the department is highly motivated students who understand the dynamics of the industry and hone their skills accordingly. The students of the department get placed in premier Indian and multinational IT companies and go on to attain prestigious positions.

The objective of Computer science and Engineering Department is to equip students with latest skills in the field of technologies supplemented with Practical Orientation to face challenges of modern computing industry.

We at College of Engineering Roorkee instruct futuristic technical education and install high patterns of discipline through our dedicated faculties who shall set global standards. Making our students technically superior and ethically strong, who in turn shall advance the quality of life.

I take the privilege to welcome you all to the Dept. of Computer Science & Enginnering at College of Engineering Roorkee. The department seeks to combine excellence in education and research with survive to the industry. Our vision is to be recognized as an innovative and leading Computer Science & Engineering department in the University and beyond. Our goal is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and the practical experience that enable them to serve a variety of societal needs.
Learning is a continuous process and does not end with the acquistion of a degree, especially because steady and rapid advances in Computing Technologies shorten the life of tools and techniques prevalent today. Therefore, they are given a strong foundation in computer science and problem solving techniques and are made adaptable to changes.
As H.O.D. I wish to take the opportunity to assure you that I will try my best to maximize students participation in the department and will keep the admin transparent.
